It's amazing what we find out about our ancestors by checking out their clothing! DRAWERS (or Pantaletts) WERE SPLIT (completely open at the crotch)! It does sound convenient. :-) These are original, Edwardian bloomers - not reproductions! Their condition is excellent and appear to have been worn very little. The fabric is a fine cotton in great shape. The leg bottom of drawers was, of course, their highlight as they might 'show' occasionally. And, the bottoms of these are just lovely with horizontal pin tucking, lace insert and edge lace. There are 4-5 very small, hard to notice holes in the cotton fabric on one of the leg ruffles (largest 1/4 x 3/8') They would be an easy fix. And, while I did launder these a few very pale, brownish age spots remain. I really expect these would disappear with another, more thorough soaking. The waist yoke is 5' deep and fastens with two buttons. It measures a 26 1/2' waist and a 35' hip. (I think these are suppose to 'drop' a little so figure a 25' waist) The full length is 26' and the tucked and lace bottoms measure 7 1/2' THESE ARE VERY WEARABALE & of course GREAT FOR DISPLAY. A Victorian wedding isn't complete without Victorian drawers! These drawers have a 2-button back closure and are fitted through the waistline to just above the hips. The hips, posterior and legs of the bloomers are larger and loose fitting.
